Here you can escape from everyday life and plunge into the silence and pristine world of wildlife. Here you will discover the wonderful world of one of the largest in Europe Polistovo-Lovatskaya bog system, which is more than ten thousand years old, learn the history of the formation of a huge array of raised bogs from the last Valdai glaciation to the present day. Development of ecological tourism in the Polistovsky Reserve began in 2006 and is now based on the principles of sustainable development. Also for us it is very important to cooperate with the locals and create such conditions of collaboration, when the protection of their own nature becomes beneficial to the local community. In addition, we need conditions for safe travel into the wild, untouched nature with minimal impact on it, with the obligatory constant control of its condition, providing the opportunity to obtain new knowledge about nature that can change the attitude to it.

As part of the development of this type of tourism, a series of ecological routes introducing visitors to the main natural and cultural values has been created in the Reserve. In addition to acquaintance with the reserved nature you have an opportunity to touch the rich history of the Russian backwoods by visiting the author's excursions offered by the locals. The combination of natural and cultural tours allows you to fully immerse yourself in the wonderful atmosphere of Polistovye, where the unusual beauty of the wetlands and the colorite of the Russian countryside adjacent to the ghostly romance of the "great Soviet construction projects". A visit to the Reserve begins in the visit center, which is located in the Bezhanitsy settlement. Here you can get detailed information about the reserve, the natural features of its territory and our tourist offerings.

The nature trails of the reserve start in the villages Tsevlo (35 km from the Bezhanitsy settlement, Bezhanitsky district) and Gogolevo (70 km from the Bezhanitsy settlement, Loknyansky district). For those who come by public transport, we can offer an additional service, organizing a transfer to the places of accommodation, the booking of which is agreed in advance. For those who wish to stay in the Reserve we offer comfortable guest houses, as well as the opportunity to taste the traditional Russian cuisine.

Please note that all excursions are by appointment only; excursions to the reserve are only possible when accompanied by our staff.
