Dry valley meadows occupy very small percentage of the area of Polistovsky Reserve. Birds are mostly represented by Gray Warbler, confirming the process of meadow bushing, and whinchat. Among usual species in the surveyed meadows one can also find tree Pipit, Yellow Wagtail, River Warbler, Marsh Warbler, Sedge Warbler, Nightingale, Lentils. The rare species include: Kestrel, Corncrake, Snipe, Field Lark, Common Warbler, Garden Warbler, Chiffchaff, Turdus Iliacus. Flood plains of Polistovsky Reserve have a peculiar fauna of birds; in addition to typical inhabitants of these habitats one may encounter many rare species. A high diversity is characteristic for Charadriiformes. Here one can observe Lapwing, Large and Medium Curlews, Great Snipe, Wilson Snipe, Redshank, Marsh Sandpiper, Godwit, and Buzzard, Marsh Harrier, Yellow-headed Wagtail, Hoodie, River Warbler. In a large number found the Yellow Wagtail, Marsh Warbler and Gray Warbler.
In winter, the base of meadow habitats of Polistovsky Reserve includes Finch, mainly flocks of Goldfinches and Redpolls, wandering in search of food. They are joined by Robins, Greenfinches, Yellowbirds. Such birds of prey (Goshawk, Sparrowhawk, Rough-legged Hawks) Grey Shrike, Magpie, and Yellowhammer are also noted. Along willows one can yet meet Ptarmigan. Among reptiles one can see here Common Viper and Lizard. Mammals of meadow habitats of the Polistovsky Reserve are presented by a usual set of species. They are Moose, Roe Deer, Wild Boar, Hare, American Mink and Raccoon Dogs, as well as a large variety of small rodents: Field Mouse, Yellow Mouse, Harvest Mouse, Root Vole, Common Vole, Fields (dark) Vole, Underground Vole, etc.
