Eco-educational and interpretational events

Every autumn, a seminar on environmental education and interpretation for teachers is held at Polistovsky Reserve. The seminar is aimed at systematization of knowledge, exchange of experience, promotion of work of educational institutions in the field of environmental education. The program includes: acquaintance with the methods of environmental education in protected areas, the possibility of including elements of environmental education in school lessons, carrying out activities and expeditions together with the Reserve, an excursion to one of Polistovsky eco-trails. In addition, we offer teachers a calendar of environmental lessons, events and actions for self-organization in schools or institutions of additional education. A reference to the methodological materials (in Russian) prepared by Polistovsky Reserve has been attached to each of the events. September: the action “We clean the world” (lesson is in Russian); during the action, garbage is collected in parks and at school grounds. Download teaching materials, in Russian.

October: interactive lessons on World Animal Day (in Russian). Download teaching materials, in Russian.

November: the action “Feed the birds in the winter”, as a part of the action interactive lessons on wintering birds (in Russian) are held, participants make and hang the bird feeders. Download teaching materials, in Russian.

January: January, 11 - the date of the creation of the first Nature Reserve in Russia (Barguzinsky), lessons dedicated to this date tell about the protected areas system of Russia (in Russian), including Polistovsky Reserve. Download teaching materials, in Russian.

February: lessons about Polistovsky Reserve (in Russian), dedicated to the World Wetlands Day (February, 2). Download teaching materials, in Russian.

Also in February, an annual children's scientific and practical conference dedicated to this holiday is held together with Rdeysky National Nature Reserve. It involves schoolchildren who conducted research on the basis of protected natural areas, for example, in the framework of the children's hike “Rodnik”.

March: the environmental action “Do not hurry to pick primroses!” (download teaching materials, in Russian); and the action on waste paper collection - you can collect it yourself or join the events of Polistovsky Reserve held in Bezhanitsky and Loknyansky districts.

April: eco-lessons “Spring without fire” (download teaching materials, in Russian) and “Bird Day” (April, 1) (download teaching materials, in Russian), at the second event you can also build and hang out birdhouses.

May: garbage collection campaign “We clean the world” (download teaching materials, in Russian); and also the campaign “Plant a Tree” (you can do it yourself, join the movement “Circle of Life” (Russia) or plant trees together with Polistovsky Reserve in Bezhanitsky and Loknyansky districts, seedlings are purchased with funds from waste paper collected in March).

In addition, traditionally, in May, “Marsh for Parks” is held - an international environmental campaign held in Russia in order to attract public attention to the work of protected natural areas and environmental protection in general. The events of Polistovsky Reserve, timed to the “March for Parks”, take place in the Bezhanitsky and Loknyansky districts.

July-August: the time of the children's ecological hike "Rodnik" and the program "Holadays in Polistoviye".
