Fire safety info-boards are installed in the vicinity of the Reserve
Yesterday Polistovsky Reserve staff installed information signs with fire-prevention propaganda on the main routes leading to the protected natural area.
Usually a fire season begins after the snow melting, which can happen in the early spring, so preparations in Polistovsky Reserve started in advance. The first stage wass the production and installation of 4 info-boards, recalling outdoor fire safety rules.
Two information signs were installed in Bezhanitsky district: nnear Tsevlo village and in the area of Peski, visited by fishermen on the way to Lake Polisto. Another two signs were established by employees of Polistovsky Reserve in Loknyansky district on the roads leading to the Reserve from Gogolevo village.
Preparation for the fire season in the Кeserve also includes inventory of fire fighting equipment, instruction on the technique of extinguishing wildfires for state inspectors and a number of environmental education activities for adults and children that will take place in early spring.
Polistovsky Reserve recommends everyone to observe simple fire safety rules during outdoor activities regardless of the place and time of the year: do not throw cigarette butts and other debris, do not leave fires unattended and do not set fire to dry vegetation.
