Polistovsky Reserve took part in celebration of International Children's Day in Bezhanitsy.
On June 1 young families of Bezhanitsky district gathered for a holiday in Bezhanitsky park and in the cinema "Kvant". Here was held a solemn ceremony of awarding talented youth, a concert from Children's Art School students, street performances and games.
Creative collectives and youth teams of the district are already well acquainted with the activities of Polistovsky Reserve. The staff of the environmental education department took part in the celebration and invited guests to the "nature-reserved" table to answer quiz questions and take part in master classes. Ecological game "Keepers" and creative tasks did not leave young guests of the holiday indifferent. Kids were so keen on drawing that even an unexpected power outage did not become an obstacle for them: the occupation continued under the light of flashlights. Fortunately, the problem was soon fixed.
Young participants of the creative contest were surprised to learn the names and look of some inhabitants of their mutual native land: fern-owl, kingfisher, shrew... Reserve staff can tell so many about the nature of the marshes! The visit-center of Polistovsky Reserve invites residents and guests of Bezhanitsy both on working days and on weekends. Here is a small, but modern interactive museum of Polistovie swamps, where everyone could find something interesting.
