Cooperation with St. Petersburg
An agreement on cooperation between Polistovsky National Nature Reserve and the Directorate of Protected Areas of St. Petersburg was signed yesterday in DOPAs office in St. Petersburg by the directors of the organizations - Tatyana Kovaleva and Mikhail Yablokov.
Recall, that a trip of the Directorate’s staff to Polistovsky Reserve to explore the work of the organization and exchange experiences with colleagues was held in November. The visit was very saturated and interesting; and it was decided to continue the cooperation and to formalize it.
Subject of the agreement is the implementation of cooperation and exchange of expertise to assist each other in achieving the goals of the organizations. The list of mutually interesting activities include: preservation of natural complexes of protected areas and the implementation of measures to prevent violations of the environmental legislation, organization of scientific research and monitoring, as well as the implementation of environmental education and interpretation and elaboration of ecological routes and trails. The agreement provides possibilities of information support, counseling colleagues, joint participation in environmental activities, internships and events.
The agreement is concluded indefinitely and, we hope, will be the beginning of active and fruitful cooperation between the Directorate of Protected Areas of St. Petersburg and Polistovsky Reserve in all areas of environmental protection.
