A "roadmap" for the system of protected in Russia will be discussed in Vladivostok
All-Russian meeting of directors of nature reserves and national parks about problems and prospects of development of the federal system of protected areas will be held from 4 to 9 October 2015 under the chairmanship of Sergey Donskoy - the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation.
Participants of the meeting will discuss ways to implement the Concept of development of federal protected areas for the period up to 2020. Expanding of the network of Russian protected areas, extension of areas for scientific research, improvement of environmental education, strengthening of international relations, and many other topics will be considered during the meeting.
The most significant achievements in main areas of work of national nature reserves and national parks will be represented in thematic sections (Education, protection, tourism, environmental monitoring, environmental education and image of PAs). Director of Polistovsky National Nature Reserve Mikhail Yablokov will perform in one of these sections with the report on the development of eco-tourism using successful experience of Polistovsky Reserve as an example.
The last day of the meeting will be devoted to practical acquaintance with work of protected areas located in Primorsky Krai. It is planned to visit ecotrails in "Land of Leopard" national park, in Sikhote-Alinsky National Nature Reserve and also look at some sights of the Far Eastern Marine Biosphere Reserve.
The event will be attended by more than 200 representatives from national parks and national nature reserves, experts, observers and non-governmental environmental organizations.
