Meeting of activists from the villages of Gogolevo and Tsevlo
Yesterday, on the 14th of November, a meeting of active villagers from Gogolevo and guests from Tsevlo was held at the guest house of Polistovsky Reserve in Gogolevo. They discussed possible cooperation for the development of cultural life of the bogside region, as well as interaction with Polistovsky Reserve in the field of ecotourism.
About 20 people gathered tougether for tea with pies: activists from Tsevlo and Gogolevo and employees of Polistovsky Reserve. The meeting began with greetings of guests from Tsevlo and aquaintance with Gogolevo residents. It turned out that many have similar memories of the Polistovsky area in the past, and some were familiar in absentia for a long time.
The participants decided not only to share their memories, but also to perform several famous songs. Many songs are loved in both villages, for example, the song “My Village” was sang by the residents of Gogolevo and Tsevlo in chorus. During the discussions, an idea to create a joint vocal group arose in order to perform at various events and holidays in the future.
After tea, guests from Tsevlo visited a new museum of rural life of the twentieth century, located in the cordon building of Polistovsky Reserve. The museum continues to expand, and the guests have offered to help to fill it - some villagers have unnecessary old utensils, actively used in the recent past.
A return visit of the residents of Gogolevo to Tsevlo is scheduled for December. Perhaps, activists from two bogside villages will also hold festivities together, for example, on Christmas holidays.
Meetings and joint plans contribute to the preservation of culture and identity, they give birth to new ideas for development and creativity. The administration of Polistovsky Reserve hopes that new tourist products acquainting with the rich history of the bogside area will appear as a result of cooperation between the residents of Tsevlo and Gogolevo.
