Recidivist offenders are detained in Polistovsky Reserve
On the 28th of October, Polistovsky Reserve law-enforcement team detained three people who were illegally staying in the protected area in Loknyansky district. Violators came here to collect cranberries, two of them were detained repeatedly.
Protocols on an administrative offense under were drawn up for all the violators; 5 kilograms of cranberry and a mechanical harvester were also seized. Berry collectors were detained on the raised bog near the area of Lugi, in the same place where they were already stopped by state inspectors of the Reserve at the beginning of the month.
Collecting cranberries and staying on the territory of the Reserve without a special permit and without an employee is prohibited. For violation of the environmental protection regime offenders will face a fine of from 3 to 4 thousand rubles.
Cranberry harvesting is allowed only in designated areas in the buffer zone of the Reserve from the 10th of September to the 1st of December, subject to the rules of careful nature use: you can collect up to 15 kg of berries per person without the use of harvesters traumatic for vegetation.
