Calendar of nature: summer is going on
After a short period of cooling visited Polistovye last week, the maximum daily air temperatures rose above 20 degrees again. Summer continues, and characteristic summer natural phenomena and events occur.
Yeasterday a number of observations were made on the ecological route "Plavnitskoye bog". In the fens and the flooded meadows, the beautiful yellow flowers - irises - which appeared here in early June, gradually stop blooming. They are replaceв by the calla, which has a period of mass flowering now.
Red flowers of the purple marshlocks with pointed petals and white undergrowths of the bedstraw appeared on the meadows. Also on the meadows and in some places in the forest zone, you can meet the lesser butterfly-orchid, the round-leaved wintergreen, the Ragged-Robin and the spreading bellflower.
The pond-lily (Nuphar) and water lilies (Nymphaea) blossomed on the rivers and lakes of Polistovsky. The cranberry continues to blossom on the raised bog; leaves of a small predator - sundew can also be found there, as well as wild orchids - heath spotted and common spotted.
Recently, the younger generation of birds is often found on the ecological routes. So, in the vicinity of the "Plavnitskoye Bog" trail young chicks of the thrush (presumably the redwing) were met, they were learning how to fly, and recently on the same route they saw a black grouse with chicks.
In addition, you can meet a viviparous lizard, basking in the sun on еру wooden flooring - the only representative of its family, living on raised bogs. And sometimes there are also meetings with larger animals: last week, moose and their calved have been seen three times.
