Joint raids on the protection of aquatic biological resources continue
Last week, Polistovsky Reserve law-enforcmnt team conducted two protection raids in conjunction with an employee of the Department of state control, supervision and fish protection of Pskov region. They drew up two protocols on administrative offences, and pulled 3 fishing nets from the rivers.
The raids took place on th 30th of April and the 6th of May to protect water biological resources during the spring spawning season. The route covered Tsevlo and Polisto lakes; Tsevla, Polist', Plavnitsa, Stradnitsa, Osyanka rivers; and other adjoining water bodies.
On the 30th of April two boats moving with the motor (which contradicts the fishing rules) were detained on the river Tsevla. Protocols on administrative offences were drawn up on the boat owners.
On the 6th of May, the inspectors found three fishing nets, about 30 meters long each, in the branches of the river Polist'. Illegal fishing tools were pulled out, but several fish have already entangled in the mesh and died.
Joint raids of Polistovsky Reserve with other law-enforcement agencies are continuing, police officers plan to take part in the next raids.
