«By the beaver's path» - only wearing rubber boots
This week the staff of Polistovsky Reserve made an exploratory trip to the ecological path "By the beaver's path". The route is ready to welcome tourists, but thanks to the activity of beavers near the trail it is wet in some places, and tourists need to come in rubber boots.
At the beginning of the week the route was visited by the staff of the tourism department of Polistovsky Reserve. They removed fallen branches from the trail, checked the integrity of the decking, in several places there was a need for small repairs, which was made the next day by the state inspectors of the Reserve. Now the trail is ready to meet guests.
All visitors of the ecological route should take rubber boots with them. After spring snow melting and due to active hydrotechnical works carried out by beavers near the path, there are some places with moist soil, and in two places the water level has even risen above the wooden decking.
Despite the high water, the route is already very interesting for visiting: beavers strengthen their buildings and construct new dams; numerous birds can be heard around the way; there are many traces of the Reserve's inhabitants - moose, wild boars, woodpeckers; first flowers appeared on the forest meadows.
