Polistovsky Reserve conducts an eco-marathon "Paper Boom"
Polistovsky Reserve conducts an eco-marathon "Paper Boom" for collecting paper in Bezhanitsy settlement. Everyone will be able to hand over the junk paper near the building of the Concert Hall from 10 am to 3 pm on the 27th of April.
The eco-marathon will be held in 4 nominations: "Responsible approach" - nomination for organizations, "Green School" - nomination for educational institutions, "Friends of the Planet" - nomination for school classes, and family nomination "Nature Keepers".
The winners in each nomination will receive certificates for visiting the excursion to "Plavnitskoe Bog" eco-trail, all participants will also receive souvenirs from Polistovsky Reserve. Income from the waste paper handing over will go to the landscaping of the parks in Bezhanitsy settlement.
Participants of the eco-marathon should collect and hand over the maximum possible amount of waste paper: notebooks, books, newspapers, magazines, posters, packing corrugated paper, paper and its waste. Waste paper should be packed in boxes, bags or bandaged. Before delivery it is necessary to separate hard covers from books and remove all metal and plastic elements.
Rationally, paper can be used repeatedly, saving thousands of trees. It is estimated that recycling of one ton of waste paper saves 10 trees, 20 000 liters of water and 1000 kW of electricity and ionized oxygen, sufficient for 30 people. The eco-marathon "Paper Boom" is intended to remind Bezhanitsy residents about the need to take care of natural resources and allows everyone to take part in the preservation of the planet.
